Hyouka

When you think of "high school life", the word "rose-colored" comes to mind. And when you think of "rose-colored", "high school life" comes to mind.

But not to Oreki Houtarou, as what he seeks is energy conserving life. Doing anything is tedious and he is not interested in anything that will waste energy. His motto - "If I don't have to do it, I won't. If I do have to do it, make it quick".

Houtarou was forced to join the Koten-bu, Classic Club by his sister. This is where he mets Chitanda Eru and his life changed.
 


Two words that changed Houtarou's life

 Aside Oreki, there are two more main characters in this anime, which are, Fukube Satoshi - a fake man of the world, as described by Houtarou, he is also Houtarou best friend and Mayaka Ibara - Satoshi's friend since middle school and she has feeling for Satoshi.

Oreki finds himself unable to reject Chitanda’s requests to satisfy her curiosity by solving various mysteries, including the personal reason that prompted her to go to the Classics Club. Oreki finds himself being dragged into the club and for somehow his energy conserving life changed little by little.

This is by far my favourite anime for 2012. I love mystery but this is one anime that is not like any other stereotype mystery anime out there. Althoug the mystery itself is not something that will blow your mind. This anime focused more on the character and their interaction. I have to agree that not many will love this anime but who cares. As far for me, this is what I prefer in an anime and I have to say it's the best.

 The animation is beautiful. The scenery is gorgeous and I love it when they shows Chitanda's eyes when she got curious and I also love Houtarou's green eyes. The eyes alone potrayed their emotion so well that you don't need any words to explain. And that is what I really love about this show.

My favourite episode has to be Episode 19 and the ending is perfect for this anime. Eru standing at the Cherry Blossom tree  is definitely one of the best-animated scenes out of the whole show. The attention to detail is just so amazing.

The last episode, makes my heart goes Toki Doki, especially the part during the procession and all Houtarou can think about is how coming to the procession is a very bad idea, how his energy consuming policy is being shattered, how his thought is being consumed with the desire to get a look at Eru’s face with all of her make-up on from the front. "Chitanda ka mienai! Chitanda ka mienai!". Kyaaa... Houtarou is curious. Who would have thought that Houtarou will get curious. And the last scene where Houtarou made the offer to Eru, my heart just melts. All I can say, this anime is wrapped up nicely and it left something for my imagination to go wild about.

Yeah! I'm so happy that I decided to download and watch this anime and thanks to a friend who helped me downloaded the 3 last episodes and now my heart is still warmth and fluttering, the after impact of watching Hyouka....
