Ando Natsu
After watching Shinya Shokudo (will write about it later), I somewhat had the urge to look for drama that shows traditional culture of Japan. I love food and the art of making wagashi or traditional Japanese sweets is intriguing as I've never seen how it was made. I tasted it once and I can't never ever forget how delicious it is. Oh my goodness, I'm drooling here.
Natsu, played by Kanjiya Shihori, studied to be a patissier at a Western sweets and desserts but the shop owner's death left her jobless. While she was searching for jobs, circumstances led her to Mangetsudo. Mangetsudo is a well-established Japanese confectionary in Asakusa, Tokyo. Working as a part-timer in Mangetsudo, she grew fond of the world of Japanese confection.
Watching this drama episode by episode, it really gives you the heartwarming feeling. Life is so unpredictable. We will encounter many hardships and sometimes our life might not goes as planned but as long as we keep an open mind and be optimistic about it, there will be other path open eventhough it might not be as bright as what we have initially planned.
Wagashi, the Japanese confection is an art itself. I really admire how much thought and effort they put into making sweets. And note this, I really wish that I can eat all the sweets they made! Hahaha. The drama itself was filmed at Asakusa, Tokyo. What a wonderful place! If what potrayed in this drama is real, I wish I can experience it myself.
