Making a dream come true...

Since many years back, I've been dreaming of opening up my own business. From a book shop like the book shop in You’ve Got Mail, a cake shop like Antique, a maid café, a butler café, manga cafe or just a simple restaurant.

My late mom used to have a small restaurant. I think the ‘entrepreneurship’ is running in our blood. I still remember her small back, her smiles and her many faces, God, how I miss her!

I always imagined of having a small café or restaurant where I can serve the customers with food that I like and love.

Last year I really put up a strong hold on this dream. And I’m lucky as my dream is shared with all my brothers. After very hard and painful months with not much funds to begin with, in 01 January 2011, there it is, Straw Hat Steamboat & Restaurant.

Why Straw Hat? We are a die-hard fan of One Piece. Why One Piece? It’s the best anime/manga ever!

I believe life is about passion and food is passion. I want people to enjoy the food that I love, that we love. And I want people to love themselves more and I believe we can give happiness through food.

That is why the restaurant concept is based on what we love. Either its food, its manga, anime, Japanese drama or any Japanese culture, we would like to bring it and injects it in people life. 

Yeah, how can I leave my passion for Japanese culture? Of course, one day I want to make a cosplay day in the shop. Hahahaha.. I will force all my staffs to cosplaying. That will be awesome.

I know there's still a long way to go and we are still very far from reaching the dream but we already put 1 strong foot firm on the ground.

Life is all about taking chances and I don't want to regret of not doing things that I want. Even though the human life seems too short but hey, can you say that you are really 'living' it? I can!
